Transfer - Confirm Owners Screen
Note that at this stage you are not indicating whether each owner is taking part in the transfer or not, simply that you agree they are current owners for the purpose of this transaction.
The following names will appear in the list of folio owners:
- registered folio owners for folios selected on the View/Add Folio(s) screen. If you have requested a change for any of these names within this case folder, it will be the edited name that appears here. The names shown can be amended via the 'Rectification of Registry Error' or 'Update Registered Owner Details' transactions.
- transferees already entered for other transfer transactions within the case folder, where all or the residue of the land was being transferred.
- transferees from other transfer transactions will be shown alongside any new folios created by those transfers.
- applicants already entered for First Registration transactions within the case folder will be shown against the new folios created by those transactions.
- assentees already entered for Assent by Personal Representative transactions within the case folder, where all or the residue of the land was being transferred. Assentees from Assent by Personal Representative transactions will be shown alongside any new folios created by those transactions.
Note that Transferees/Assentees do not become the owners of folios included in previous transactions purely for the purposes of granting/reserving easements.
If the owner(s) are shown in the list, but there is a problem with the name displayed, you should return to the Case Folder and add a 'Rectification of Registry Error' or 'Update Registered Owner Details' transactions. Note that names may only be edited in this way where an owner has changed their name (through marriage, deed poll change or court order change), or because the name has been spelt incorrectly on the Names Index/Folio.
Adding new names
Where there is an application pending registration that changes the ownership of the folio, the owner names listed for the folio will no longer be relevant. You may add the name(s) of the owner(s) which will appear on the folio on completion of the registration of the pending application.
