APPLICATION FOR A DUPLICATE LAND CERTIFICATE

I, the undersigned .......... a partner/solicitor in the firm of .......... of .......... hereby certify as follows:

1. I act for …….. of …….. (hereinafter called “the applicant”) the above-named Registered Owner (or as the case may be).
2. After making all necessary and appropriate enquiries and giving notice to all persons claiming an interest in the land I am satisfied that the Land Certificate relating to the above Folio has been lost or destroyed and that Rule 132 of the Land Registration Rules (NI) 1994 therefore applies.
3. A suitable advertisement has been published in respect of the missing Certificate and the time limit for replies has expired. No information regarding the whereabouts of the Certificate has been received and no objection to this application has been made.

4. The applicant is the person

It is neither necessary nor appropriate to advertise in the particular circumstances of the loss or destruction.

4. The applicant is the person entitled to custody of the Certificate. The Certificate as at the time of its loss or destruction was not pledged or deposited as security for money and is not held by way of lien.
5. I undertake to inform the Land Registry if any information is subsequently received as to the whereabouts of the Certificate and to surrender the Certificate to the Land Registry for cancellation if it should ever come into my possession.
6. I request that after completion of registration of any pending dealings a new Certificate be issued to my firm as solicitors for the applicant.
