Assent - Assentees

Assent - Assentee Details Screen

Please ensure that you enter the person’s name correctly as this is how the information will be recorded on the register and on the generated documentation.

Each assentee must be listed separately. It is not sufficient to enter multiple details as a single assentee. For example;
'John Kerins of 10 Main Street…etc…' is entered as the first assentee
'Susan Kerins of 10 Main Street…etc…' is entered as the second assentee
If two assentees have exactly the same name, it is recommended that you uniquely identify them (e.g., by the addition of 'Snr' or 'Jnr').  The person’s title e.g. Mr, Mrs, Ms, Dr etc is not required.

You must provide at least the first line of the address.  If the address of the assentee changes after the generation of the Form 17 for this assent, you will be offered the opportunity to update the address when you submit the application to the registry.  This will add a note to the Form 100E produced by the system, advising the Registry that the address should be updated.

‘A UK address for correspondence is required.  As the address for the assentee is not in the UK it will be recorded but you may also choose to supply a UK address for the service of notice(s).  If you do not supply a UK address for this purpose, the stored profile of your practice will be used for all correspondence’

A valid UK address for service of notice(s) is required for all assentee.   You may supply an alternative UK address for service of notice(s).  If you have indicated that the main address for the assentee is not in the UK, that non-UK address will be recorded but you may also choose to supply a UK address for the service of notice(s).  If you do not supply a UK address for this purpose, the stored profile of your practice will be used for all correspondence.

If you confirm that the assentee is a minor, the word "minor” will be displayed after the assentee name on the generated form e.g. ‘John Smith (a minor) of 10 Rossdale Road, Bangor’ etc.

If you confirm that the assentee is an existing registered owner as a Tenant in Common of folios involved in this transaction, the following wording will appear after the assentee’s name and address; “… one of the above named registered owners” on the generated form e.g. ‘John Smith  of 10 Rossdale Road, Bangor BT19 6BE, one of the above named registered owners’.
